Gaining DKP
All members of raid earn DKP. There are several ways to earn DKP. Being on scheduled raid starting time gives you small amount of DKP.
All members of raid earn X DKP for Y time interval of raid.
Being in raid when Raid Leader decides to stop it gives you small amount of DKP.
Few explanations: We feel that this system moves us forward to our main aim in raids : looting epics. Most of WoW raiders, or atleast half of them, have tendency to show up only for "farmable" encounters, and slack when it comes down to wiping. With this system, there is no difference between farming and learning. Only flaw of this system is if our raiders think "Hey! I'll slack and afk wand and earn DKP". Check "Raiding Issues" for more info.
Spending DKP
Members have priority on claiming loot over Rookies. Council has absolutly no priority over regular members. Any try to influence loot distribution by the member of Council will lead to severe punishments.
All items have fixed values that are posted on this forums. We will try to set number of "Class Restricted" items to minimum.
Items are offered to the highest ranking DKP leader. He may either take item or pass it, after which it is offered to the next raider in line, and so forth. Some restrictions however do apply, see "Hoarding".
Hoarding
Council will do its utmost to prevent DKP hoarding. While we understand your admiration for specific item, you CANNOT farm DKP for last boss drop if item that dropped is clear upgrade for you. If that is case, you will be given item and deducted its DKP value from your DKP points.
Best way to prevent "forced upgrades" is to a) get best possible blues, and b) to never hoard.
DKP Tables
Each and every PvE instance have their own DKP tables. This means DKP farmed in Karazhan cannot be spent in Black Temple. This is rule as a way to ensure no hoarding will happen ("I'm gonna save dkp for T2 shoulders", says Scholo geared shaman in MC.) and to close DKP gap between old raiders and new raiders.
Outdoor bosses are put under nearest difficulty instance DKP, and DKP can be spent in both encounters. Example from the past : Azuregos/Kazzak go into MC DKP table, Emerald Dragons go into BWL dkp table.
